Advent

Advent

Advent is the beginning of the Church year and, like Lent, it is a time of repentance. During Advent we prepare for the coming of Christ as the baby in Bethlehem, in His Word and Sacraments, and in the Day of Judgment when he will rescue us from this fallen world.

The Angels' Candle reminds us that Jesus will return in glory accompanied by His angels. This candle is purple.
